Origin

The posterior labial vein originates from the union of small venules in the posterior aspect of the labia majora.

Course

From their origin, the posterior labial veins enter the superficial pouch, and travel posteriorly, below the perineal membrane to drain into the internal pudendal vein (Netter, 2011). The posterior labial veins may also drain into the perineal vein or vesical venous plexus or the (not modeled) (Dorland, 2011).

Tributaries

Small tributaries of the posterior labial vein unite to drain into the internal pudendal vein.

Structures Drained

The small tributaries of the posterior labial vein drain the posterior aspect of the female external genitalia.
