Quick Facts
Origin: Along the roots of the spinal cord.
Course: Pass laterally to accompany the spinal nerves.
Tributaries: None.
Drainage: Anterior and posterior roots and spinal ganglia.
Origin
The radicular veins are small veins that originate along the anterior and posterior roots of the spinal cord.
Course
The radicular veins pass laterally in the subarachnoid space towards the intervertebral foramen where they drain into the intervertebral veins.
Tributaries
The radicular veins give rise to anterior and posterior radicular veins.
Structures Drained
The radicular veins primarily drain the anterior and posterior roots of the spinal cord, including the spinal (dorsal root) ganglia.
