Origin
The supratrochlear vein begins on the forehead. It originates from a venous network that is connected to the frontal tributaries of the superficial temporal vein.
Course
The supratrochlear vein arises as a single trunk from this venous network and runs downwards to reach the bridge of the nose, close to the midline. Here it runs in parallel with its counterpart from the other side. They then diverge and descend laterally towards the medial canthus of the eye, where they join the supraorbital vein to form the angular vein.
Tributaries
The supratrochlear veins are joined by a nasal arch across the nose.
Structures Drained
The supratrochlear veins drain the muscles and skin of the forehead.
