Description
Venous drainage of the thoracic wall is completed by the anterior and posterior intercostal veins. The posterior intercostal veins return blood to the azygos system, while the anterior intercostal veins return blood to the brachiocephalic veins, via the internal thoracic and musculophrenic veins.
