Read moreDescription
The retrodiscal tissue, also referred to as the bilaminar zone, is a posterior continuation of the articular disc that attaches to the posterior portion of the joint capsule of the temporomandibular joint. This zone consists of superior and inferior laminae, separated by a vascularized middle region. The vascular supply to this zone is primarily via the superficial temporal artery and sensory innervation by the auriculotemporal nerve (Miloro and Peterson, 2012).
