The oblique cord is a small fibrous band that extends from the lateral aspect of the tuberosity of the ulnar to the radius, just distal to the radial (or bicipital) tuberosity.

Structure

The oblique cord is a small and flat fascial band. Its fibers extend at right angles to the fibers of the interosseous membrane of the forearm.

Function

The function of the oblique cord appears to be insignificant in stabilizing the proximal forearm (Tubbs et al., 2007).
