Structure
The interfoveolar ligament is a thickening of the transversalis fascia, however, some fibers from transversus abdominis muscle may also strengthen the ligament. Medially, fibers may fuse with the inguinal falx.
Anatomical Relations
The interfoveolar ligament extends from the inferior edge of the transversalis fascia in the region of the deep inguinal ligament.
Function
It provides support to the lateral aspect of posterior inguinal wall in the region of the deep inguinal ring.
