The oblique muscle fibers of the stomach form a layer of smooth muscle fibers found in the muscular layer of the stomach. They're unique to the stomach and found nowhere else in the digestive tract. The oblique fibers form the innermost part of the muscular layer of the stomach and sits between the circular muscular layer and submucosa. These fibers are oriented somewhat in parallel with the longitudinal axis of the stomach.
