Structure and/or Key Features
The capsular branches of intrarenal arteries arise from the terminal ends of the arcuate arteries. They extend towards the superficial surface of the kidney to supply the fibrous capsule.
The capsule also receives supply directly from the branches of the renal arteries, these small vessels are known as the capsular branches of the renal arteries.
Function
The capsular branches of intrarenal arteries collectively function to supply and nourish the kidney’s fibrous capsule.
