Structure and/or Key Features
Interlobular veins receive blood from both the venous ends of peritubular capillaries and straight arterioles. Stellate veins are responsible for draining the most superficial zones of the renal cortex. Interlobular veins receive some straight arterioles as they travel towards the corticomedullary junction before ending in arcuate veins.
Function
Interlobular veins are responsible for the collection of blood that has circulated the kidneys.
