Description:

Description: (Location & Drainage)

The appendicular nodes, as the name suggests, are located around the vermiform appendix, adjacent to the appendicular artery. These nodes are inconsistently present; however, there is typically one located at the ileocecal angle. These nodes receive afferent vessels from the appendix and the cecum. Their efferent vessels may join the cecal or ileocecal nodes, or drain directly to the central superior mesenteric nodes (Földi et al., 2012).
