Description

The lateral lingual nodes are found inferior to the tongue. They filter lymph from the tongue, specifically the lateral areas. They are intercalated in the marginal lymph vessel of the tongue. Afferent vessels drain lymphatic fluid to the jugulodigastric nodes and on to the deep lateral cervical nodes, the jugular trunk, supraclavicular nodes, and thoracic duct (left) or right lymphatic duct.
