Description:

Description: (Location & Drainage)

The left gastric nodes form a chain adjacent to the left gastric artery along the lesser curvature of the stomach. The nodal chain is divided into two parts. The uppermost three nodes, called the gastroceliac nodes, follow the upper part of the left gastric artery towards the cardia. The lower three to five nodes, the nodes of the lesser curvature nodes, follows the lesser curvature of the stomach, adjacent to the anterior gastric branch of the anterior vagal trunk. The chain terminates near the angular notch of the stomach. These nodes receive lymph from the right upper territory of the stomach (Földi et al., 2012).

The efferent vessels of the left gastric nodes connect with the vessels of the pancreatic, splenic, and hepatic lymph nodes near the celiac trunk. These trunks descend to terminate in either the intestinal trunk or in the preaortic and lateral aortic nodes (Földi et al., 2012).
