Description

The mediastinal lymph nodes are responsible for draining lymph from the thoracic viscera and returning it to the venous circulation. This group of nodes include the:

—anterior and posterior mediastinal nodes;

—prepericardial nodes;

—lateral pericardial nodes;

—paratracheal nodes;

—superior and inferior tracheobronchial nodes.
