Description: (Location & Drainage)
The retrocaval lymph nodes are a group of four to six nodes located posterior to the inferior vena cava, along the medial border of psoas major muscle and lateral to the sympathetic trunk (Földi et al., 2012).
The retrocaval lymph nodes drain lymph from the suprarenal glands, kidneys, ureters, testes/ovaries, uterus, and uterine tubes. Their efferent vessels join the right lymph trunk which in turn return the lymph to the cisterna chyli.
