Description: (Location & Drainage)
The lateral aortic lymph vessels are responsible for draining the deep layers of the posterior abdominal wall and retroperitoneal viscera, including the gonads (ovaries or testes). The afferent vessels return lymph to the lateral aortic lymph nodes. The lateral aortic lymph vessels drain into the left lumbar lymph trunks, which subsequently drain into the cisterna chyli and the thoracic duct.
