Description

The superior gluteal lymph vessels are located adjacent to the superior gluteal artery, medial to the internal iliac artery. They are responsible for lymphatic drainage of the deep gluteal region and thigh. The efferent superior gluteal lymph vessels usually drain into the common iliac lymph nodes, but sometimes also lead to the lateral sacral lymph nodes.
