The upper part of the ureter is drained by ureteric vessels that terminate in the renal lymph vessels or in the right and left lumbar nodes. The middle part of the ureter is drained by efferents to the lower lumbar and upper common iliac nodes. The pelvic portion of the ureter is drained by vessels that terminate in either the internal iliac nodes or the medial and intermediate external iliac nodes (Földi et al., 2012).
