Description
The nasal muscles are a group of facial muscles that lie superficial to the bones and cartilage of the nose. They are involved in facial expression and regulate the size of the nostrils. This muscle group includes the:
- procerus muscle;
- nasalis muscle;
- depressor septi nasi muscle.
Some textbooks consider that the levator labii superioris alaeque nasi muscles are also part of the nasal muscle group (Standring, 2016).
