Description

The muscles of the lateral compartment (fibular or peroneal compartment) are one of the three subgroups of the leg muscles, the others being the muscles of the anterior and posterior compartments. Overall, these muscles mainly act to evert the foot at the subtalar and transverse tarsal joints.

The muscles of the lateral compartment of leg consist of the:

- fibularis longus;

- fibularis brevis.
