Insertion of Quadriceps Femoris Muscle

Description

The tendons of the four muscles that collectively form the quadriceps femoris muscle (i.e. the rectus femoris, vastus lateralis, vastus medialis and vastus intermedius muscles) converge to form a single tendon of quadriceps femoris. The fibers of this tendon travel superficial to the patella, where they become continuous with the patellar ligament, which inserts onto the tibial tuberosity.
