Quick Facts

The choroid plexus consists of a network of capillaries and ependymal cells that line the internal walls of the ventricles of the brain. It is responsible for the production of cerebrospinal fluid that fills the ventricles of the brain, and flushes metabolites out of the brain. The choroid plexus produces around half a litre of cerebrospinal fluid per day.
