The lateral ventricles can be divided into three horns; the frontal, temporal and occipital horns.

The frontal horn of lateral ventricle (aka anterior horn of lateral ventricle, or ventral horn of lateral ventricle) extends anteriorly from the body of the lateral ventricle and lies inferior to the frontal lobe.
