Quick Facts
The pyramid of medullar oblongata (aka medullary pyramid) arises as a protrusion from the ventral portion of the medulla oblongata. It carries within them the corticospinal and corticobulbar tracts, which primarily convey motor impulses from the motor cortex to the spinal cord, and the motor neurons of the cranial nerves, respectively.
