Of the 31 pairs of spinal nerves, there is one pair of coccygeal nerves (Co) arising from the coccygeal segment of the spinal cord. It contributes to the coccygeal plexus, with the fifth sacral nerve and a communication from the fourth sacral nerve. The plexus gives rise to the anococcygeal nerve.
