Origin

The crural interosseous nerve arises from the muscular branch of the tibial nerve that supplies the popliteus muscle (Standring, 2016).

Course

The crural interosseous nerve descends in the leg near the fibula as far as the inferior tibiofibular joint.

Supplied Structures

The crural interosseous nerve supplies sensory innervation to the interosseous membrane and the tibiofibular joints.
