Muscular Branch of Ulnar Nerve to Medial Half of Flexor Digitorum Profundus (Right)
Ramus musculi profundi flexoris digitorum nervi ulnaris
Read moreQuick Facts
Origin: Ulnar nerve (C8—T1).
Course: Passes behind medial epicondyle of the humerus and enters the forearm by passing between two heads of flexor carpi ulnaris. It then descends on the medial part of flexor digitorum profundus.
Branches: None.
Supply: Medial part of flexor digitorum profundus.

Origin
A medial muscular branch of the ulnar nerve innervates the flexor digitorum profundus muscle and contains motor nerve fibers from the C8—T1 cervical and thoracic spinal segments.
Course
The ulnar nerve pierces the medial intermuscular septum to enter the posterior compartment of the arm. At the elbow, it passes behind the medial epicondyle of the humerus and enters the forearm by passing between the two heads of flexor carpi ulnaris. There it lies on the medial part of flexor digitorum profundus. Here it innervates the muscle.
Branches
No named branches.
Supplied Structures
The muscular branch of the ulnar nerve to the medial half of flexor digitorum profundus provides motor innervation to the medial half of flexor digitorum profundus muscle.
