Sural Communicating Branch of Common Fibular Nerve (Left)
Ramus communicans suralis nervi fibularis communis
Read moreDescription
The sural communicating branch of the common fibular nerve arises from the lateral sural cutaneous nerve, a branch of the common fibular nerve. The sural communicating branch passes over the lateral belly of the gastrocnemius muscle in the middle third of the leg and unites with the medial sural cutaneous nerve (from the tibial nerve) to form the sural nerve (Netter, 2011).
