The anterior basal segmental bronchus (B8) is one of five segmental bronchi that arise from the inferior lobar bronchus. The others include the superior, posterior basal, medial basal, and lateral basal segmental bronchi. It descends anteriorly and provides an airway to the anterior basal bronchopulmonary segment (S8) of the inferior lobe of the right lung.
Key Features/Anatomical Relations
The anterior basal segmental bronchus is accompanied by the anterior basal segmental artery of the right lung.
