Structure

The anteromedial basal segmental bronchus (B7+8) is one of four segmental bronchi that arise from the inferior lobar bronchus. The others include the superior, posterior basal, and lateral basal segmental bronchi. It descends anteriorly and divides into medial and anterior segmental bronchi. The medial and anterior segmental bronchi provide airways to the medial (S7) and anterior (S8) bronchopulmonary segments of the inferior lobe of the left lung.
