Structure

The apicoposterior segmental bronchus (B1+2) is one of two segmental bronchi that arise from the superior division bronchus. The other branch is the anterior segmental bronchus. The apicoposterior segmental bronchus passes superiorly and divides into apical and posterior segmental bronchi. The apical and posterior segmental bronchi provide airways to the apical (S1) and posterior (S2) bronchopulmonary segment of the superior lobe of the left lung.
