The lateral basal segmental bronchus (B9) is one of four segmental bronchi that arise from the inferior lobar bronchus. The others include the superior, posterior basal, and anteromedial basal segmental bronchi. It descends laterally and provides an airway to the lateral basal bronchopulmonary segment (S9) of the inferior lobe of the left lung.
