The posterior segmental bronchus (B2) is one of three segmental bronchi that arise from the right superior lobar bronchus. The others include the apical and anterior segmental bronchi. It passes posterolaterally and slightly superiorly and terminated by dividing into lateral and posterior branches. The posterior segmental bronchus provides an airway to the posterior bronchopulmonary segment (S2) of the superior lobe of the right lung.
Key Features/Anatomical Relations
The posterior segmental bronchus is accompanied by the posterior segmental artery of the right lung.
