Description

The acromial end (acromial extremity, external extremity, scapular extremity, or lateral end) of the clavicle is the flattened, lateral part of the bone. Its anterior aspect provides an insertion site for the clavicular part of deltoid muscle. It contains an acromial facet that articulates with the acromion of the scapula, thus forming the acromioclavicular joint.
