Description

The anterior border (anterior crest) of tibia is the sharp, subcutaneous margin found along the frontal aspect of the bone. It is one of the three borders of the tibia, the other two being the medial and interosseous (lateral) borders, and it separates the medial and lateral surfaces of the tibia.

The anterior border extends inferiorly from the tibial tuberosity, and its lower portion curves medially to end at the anterior aspect of the medial malleolus. It provides an attachment site for the crural fascia.
