Description
The anterior facet for calcaneus (anterior calcaneal articular facet, or anterior calcaneal articular surface) is the small, flat area found along the inferolateral aspect of the head of talus. It is continuous anteriorly with the navicular surface of talus and is one of the three facets on the talus that articular with the calcaneus, the other two being the middle and posterior calcaneal articular facets.
The anterior facet for calcaneus articulates with the anterior talar articular facet of the calcaneus, contributing to the formation of the talocalcaneonavicular joint.
