Description

The anterior process of calcaneus is the large, saddle-shaped, anterior end of the bone. It contains the cuboid articular surface and the anterior talar articular facet.

The anterior process of calcaneus provides an origin site for the extensor digitorum brevis muscle and attachment sites for the bifurcate, dorsal calcaneocuboid and plantar calcaneocuboid ligaments.
