Description

The anterior surface is the area on the anterolateral aspect of the body of pubis. It is one of the three surfaces of the body of pubis, the other two being the posterior and symphyseal surfaces, and it is an area that is bounded:

—superiorly, by the crest of pubis;

—anteromedially, by the symphyseal surface of body of pubis.

Its inferior end is continuous with the external surface of inferior pubic ramus, and its posterolateral end is continuous with the obturator surface of superior pubic ramus.

The anterior surface of body of pubis provides an origin site for the adductor longus, adductor brevis and gracilis muscles.
