Description

The anterior surface of patella is the rough, convex, subcutaneous area on the outer aspect of the bone. It is one of the two surfaces of the patella, the other being the articular (posterior) surface. It is an area that is bounded by the medial and lateral borders, base, and apex of the patella.

The anterior surface of patella consists of longitudinal striations and multiple nutrient foramina.
