Description

The anterior talar articular surface (anterior facet for talus, or anterior talar articular facet) is the small, flat area found along the dorsal surface of the anterior process of calcaneus. It’s one of the three facets on the calcaneus that articulates with the talus, the other two being the middle and posterior talar articular facets.

The anterior talar articular facet articulates with the anterior calcaneal articular facet of the talus, contributing to the formation of the talocalcaneonavicular joint.
