Description

The body of pubis (pubic bone) is the medially located, quadrilateral-shaped part of the bone. The superior and inferior pubic rami extend from its superolateral and inferolateral aspects, respectively, while its medial aspect is the site of articulation with the fibrocartilaginous disc of the pubic symphysis joint.

The body of pubis consists of anterior, posterior and symphyseal surfaces, the pubic crest and pubic tubercle.
