Description
The condyle of humerus is the broader, distal end of the bone. It is continuous superiorly with the body of the humerus, and contains articular and non-articular areas:
—the articular area includes the trochlea and capitulum;
—the non-articular area includes the medial and lateral epicondyles of the humerus, and the coronoid, olecranon and radial fossae.
The condyle of humerus articulates with the head of the radius, forming the humeroradial joint, and the trochlear notch of ulna, forming the humeroulnar joint. These two joints contribute to the formation of the elbow joint.
