Description

The coronoid process of ulna is the broad, anterior eminence on the proximal part of ulna. The superior aspect of the coronoid process contains the distal portion of the trochlear notch, its lateral aspect contains the radial notch, and its medial aspect contains the sublime tubercle.

The coronoid process provides:

—origin sites for the pronator teres and flexor digitorum profundus muscles, and the humeroulnar head of flexor digitorum superficialis muscle;

—an insertion site for the brachialis muscle;

—an attachment site for the ulnar collateral ligament.
