Description

The dorsal (superior) surface is the rough, flat area on the upper aspect of the cuboid bone. It is one of the six surfaces of the cuboid bone, the other five being the plantar, medial and lateral surfaces, and the proximal and distal articular surfaces.

The dorsal surface of cuboid bone provides attachment sites for the:

- dorsal calcaneocuboid ligament;

- dorsal cuboideonavicular ligament;

- dorsal cuneocuboid ligament;

- bifurcate ligament;

- dorsal tarsometatarsal ligaments.
