The dorsal (superior) surface is the convex, rectangular area on the upper aspect of the intermediate cuneiform bone. It is one of the six surfaces of the intermediate cuneiform bone, the other five being the plantar, medial and lateral surfaces, and the proximal and distal articular surfaces.
The dorsal surface provides attachment sites for the:
—dorsal tarsometatarsal ligaments;
—dorsal intercuneiform ligaments;
—dorsal cuneonavicular ligaments.
