Description

The dorsal (superior) surface is the rough, rectangular area on the upper aspect of the lateral cuneiform bone. It is one of the six surfaces of the lateral cuneiform bone, the other five being the plantar, medial and lateral surfaces, and the proximal and distal articular surfaces.

The dorsal surface provides attachment sites for the:

—dorsal cuneocuboid ligament;

—dorsal tarsometatarsal ligaments;

—dorsal intercuneiform ligaments;

—dorsal cuneonavicular ligaments.
