The dorsal (superior) surface is the rough, convex area on the upper aspect of the of medial cuneiform bone. It is one of the six surfaces of the medial cuneiform bone, the other five being the plantar, medial and lateral surfaces, and the proximal and distal articular surfaces.
The dorsal surface provides attachment sites for the:
—dorsal tarsometatarsal ligaments;
—dorsal intercuneiform ligaments;
—dorsal cuneonavicular ligaments.
