Description
The dorsal (superior) surface of navicular bone is the rough, convex area on the upper aspect of the bone. It is one of the six surfaces of the navicular bone, the other five being the plantar, medial and lateral surfaces, and the proximal and distal articular surfaces.
The dorsal surface of navicular bone provides attachment sites for the dorsal cuneonavicular and talonavicular ligaments.
