Read moreDescription
The head is the expanded, pulley-shaped, distal end of the middle phalanx of little (fifth) toe. It is the distal continuation of its body and contains a distal articular facet, which articulates with the articular facet of the distal phalanx of little toe, forming the distal interphalangeal joint of the little toe.
The head of middle phalanx of little toe provides attachment sites for the collateral, accessory collateral and plantar ligaments of the distal interphalangeal joint of the little toe.
