Description

The head of talus is the expanded, rounded, anterior part of the bone. It is the distal continuation of its neck and contains the facet for the plantar calcaneonavicular ligament and three articular areas that contribute to the formation of the talocalcaneonavicular joint:

—navicular articular surface of talus;

—anterior calcaneal articular facet;

—middle calcaneal articular facet.
